On the list of to do’s; replacing the carb on the ryobi ss26 trimmer (dry rot primer bulb and super leaky gaskets only starts when you crank it for 10 minutes while jetting carb cleaning fluid into the intake), Toro mower (fwd) is getting new front wheels, new drive belt, new mulching blade and an oil change. All purchased on amazon prime for less than the cost of the carb at a big box store. Stoked to get it all done. Sideways picture because kinja..

Wait crap it’s carb cleaner that’s I’m using. Only thing that will let it start. Otherwise fuel just pours out of the carb/exhaust. Once it’s started runs fine.

I hate those little carbs so much. I’d rather run it half choked until it dies than rebuild.

$16 included the carb, gaskets, 3 extra bulbs and it’s an upgrade old one was manual choke new one is an auto choke. Feels like a solid score far as I’m concerned. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00N1R…

i was going to do this today but I have a meeting witht e design review board so its probably going to have to wait for tomorrow. We’re going to end up losing a child soon in the jungle of a back yard I have growning.

I’m going to have to do some of this soon. I was given an 18" Pulan chainsaw that I was told wouldn’t start. After years of not needing a chainsaw I decide to cut some limbs off trees, it fired right up, then the bulb cracked.
One thing I had figured out that helps starting is to remove air cleaner then dash it with the fuel. Since the fuel vaporizes from the fuel tank anyway the fumes from the soaked air cleaner helps it start right up. I’ve had to do this for the small (8hp) chipper I bought off Craigslist.

Make sure you keep a little slice of jungle back there. If you knock it all down you’ll have nowhere to hide when your weird neighbor corners you.

my backyard backs up to woods/wetlands so I have plenty of hiding spots.
